Salman Khan's 'Sultan' struggling to reach the 300 Crore mark

Salman Khan and Anushka Sharma starrer ‘Sultan’ has been making and breaking records, in India as well as abroad. The rising from the ashes of a wrestler, woven against the backdrop of a love story, has been loved by masses and classes alike. Also, the pace of collection certainly suggested that the movie will be easily able to cross the 300-crore mark. However, given this week’s collections, we can’t be so certain, though the earnings were good for a third Tuesday.

The movie, which is now running in its third week, collected approximately Rs 8 crore in its third weekend, and Rs 1.25 crore each on Monday and Tuesday, taking up the total earning to Rs 294 crore. Though it’s close, the 300-crore benchmark is still away, and the release of John Abraham and Varun Dhawan-starrer action flick ‘Dishoom’ might halt the reign of ‘Sultan’, taking it further away from adding yet another milestone to its kitty.

‘Sultan’ has so far collected more than Rs 547.12 crore worldwide. Will it collect the 300-crore mark in India? Only time will tell.
