As per sources, Big B posted on his Facebook wall, “Having worked doggedly for the last many years to eradicate Polio from the country, as UN ambassador for this fight, we have been able to put off this endemic list. By end of 2014, we shall be a polio free country. Now as UN ambassador for the Girl Child, I do hope we can bring about the same changes as we did for Polio – rid the country of the malaise of discrimination against women.”

Amitabh Bachchan was was appointed a ‘UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador’ in April 2005 and has since then featured in many advertisements and campaigns to raise awareness about polio disease.

Well knowing Big B we think he will be able to change Indian mind set regarding the’ Girl Child ‘and thus put an end to ‘Female Foeticide’.
