I don’t like the term ‘item girl’ – Malaika Arora Khan

Actress Malaika Arora Khan known for her dance numbers does not like to be tagged as an item girl for she finds it very insulting and silly to be known as one. Well who can forget the famous dance ‘Chaiyya Chaiyya’, on top of a train with Shahrukh Khan. Nor the quite recent  ‘ ‘Munni Badnaam Hui’ with brother-in-law Salman Khan’, that rocked the nation to its tunes and earned her the name tag ‘ Munni’.

As per sources Malaika said, “I don’t like the term ‘item girl’… Why not look at it (item song) as a special song?…A song that is creating a hype and entertainment. I find it derogatory and silly.” She also does not feel threatened by many of the leading ladies doing special dance number in movies “There is enough work for everyone. Everybody has a role or part to play, if somebody fits the bill that is what matters.”

Malaika at present is very excited to be back as a judge of the ver popular reality show India’s Got Talent with co-judges Karan Johar and Kiron Kher.
