However as per a Bollywood Hungama report, apparently, the studio has approached Saif Ali Khan to star in the horror comedy. The reason being, Abhishek after the success of ‘Manmarziyaan’ has hiked his fees. The studio decided to move to another actor as they felt the demand was too high.

The report further added, Saif agreed to do the film with a said number but there was a catch. The studio reportedly asked him to do a cameo in Sushant Singh Rajput starrer ‘Kizie Aur Manny’. But the shoot of the movie came to standstill when Mukesh Chhabra was suspended from his work due to the ongoing #MeToo movement. When the matter was resolved Saif had already started shooting for ‘Sacred Games 2’. Though he asked them to revise the dates, the studio turned him away and once again approached Abhishek Bachchan.

Saif who was not informed about the changes was quite miffed with the studio and even told them that it was very unprofessional of them to have conversations with another actor behind his back. The studio made some excuses for their stand and Pawan Kripalani, who was patiently waiting for an update, decided to step back from the project.
