According to a report in DNA, Ishaan was recently offered the role for the biopic. The publication quoted a source, who revealed, “Ishaan heard the narration and liked it. He has verbally given his nod to the film. The film is currently working out all the modalities.”

The report also added that the film will be directed by South filmmaker Pa Ranjith. Ranjith is a big name in the South Indian industry and is highly rated. With the biopic, the director will also mark his Bollywood debut. The freedom fighter Birsa died at the young age of 25, so the makers wanted to cast a young lead.

Birsa Munda belonged to the Munda tribe and was a religious hero. He led the Millenarian movement that rose in the tribal belt of Jharkhand and modern-day Bihar during the late 19th century. Munda played a leading role in India’s movement to gain independence from the British rule.

Ishaan Khatter has an abundance of energy and talent. The ‘Dhadak’ actor possesses a very calm head on his young shoulders.
