Sidharth Malhotra and Shraddha Kapoor’s romantic thriller, ‘Ek Villain’ completed four years on June 27. The leading star, Sidharth Malhotra had shared the same on Twitter writing, “4 YEARS OF EK VILLAIN #Trending Best memories, team and energy on the set ,thank you guys @mohit11481 @ShraddhaKapoor @ektaravikapoor”.

The Mohit Suri directorial also starred Riteish Deshmukh, who played a negative role in the film. The story of the 2014 hit was all about a hardened criminal whose wife gets killed by a serial killer.

News of a sequel being planned by the makers have been on since long. As per the latest rumours floating around, the sequel is indeed going to happen and this time around, Karan Johar will also be a part of it.

As reported by Free Press Journal, Karan Johar will be teaming up with Ekta Kapoor for the ‘Ek Villain’ sequel. While Ekta will be producing it under her banner, Karan will be presenting the film under his banner, Dharma Productions. As per the reports Mohit Suri will be directing the sequel too.

The sources added that the ‘Ek Villain’ sequel is in its initial stage. The cast and the other details are yet to be finalized. The official announcement will be made once the scripting is finished.

At present, Karan Johar is busy with the promotions of his next ‘Dhadak’ that marks the debut of Janhvi Kapoor. The Shashank Khaitan directorial also stars Ishaan Khatter. As for Ekta Kapoor, she is currently riding high on the success of her girl gang film – Veere Di Wedding.
