Looks like the loss of film ‘Padmavati’ has led to some gain for Nawazuddin Siddiqui-starrer ‘Monsoon Shootout’. The film that was going to release on December 15 will now apparently release on December 8. Sources say that the film will receive a good run at the box office if it is released earlier as it does not have any competition now.

A source says, “The film’s content is strong and the makers are certain if they get a longer period at the box office, it will help them benefit from it before another major release comes by.” (Also Read: Padmavati: Twinkle Khanna’s sassy reply to protesters bowled us over)

If at all ‘Padmavati’ were to release on December 1, it would have chewed the business of all the films coming in the next week. Considering that there is so much of anticipation around ‘Padmavati’, one can easily expect the film to at least have a good two week run at the box office. And no other film can sustain itself in such case. And then on December 22, we have Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif’s ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ making it to the theatres. So it seems best for ‘Monsoon Shootout’ to release on December 8 to mint good money at the box office.
