Rani Mukerji

Actress Rani Mukerji who has given us some of the best performances in movies like ‘Black’, ‘No One Killed Jessica’, ‘Mardaani’, to name a few, is all set to make a comeback to movies, but it’s going to be special. As Rani will be essaying a differently abled character in her comeback movie.

The last time we saw her essay such a role was 12 years back in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Black’ where she essayed the role of a blind, deaf and mute girl. Of course, she played it to perfection and bagged plenty of awards.

Now, a recent report suggests that she will essay a differently-abled role in a YRF production.

A popular daily quoted a source, “Initially, Emraan Hashmi was to produce the film and also act in it. However, for some reasons, he let go of the project and turned producer with another film. Sidharth approached Abhishek Bachchan, next, but he kept dilly-delaying. And now, it is being produced by YRF with Rani as the central character.”

The source further added, “The film revolved around a guy who has disability wherein he uncontrollably jumped and shouted while talking. That’s why Emraan and Abhishek had shown interest. When Siddharth took the film to YRF, both Aditya and Rani liked the script. Adi agreed to produce the film but asked Siddharth to change the protagonist-turn the hero into a heroine. That’s how Rani came into the picture!”

Woah! If this is indeed true, then we are doubly excited for her comeback venture.
