Aditya Dhar made his directorial debut with ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike‘. The film starred Vicky Kaushal and Mohit Raina in lead roles. It was based on the events of the surgical strike conducted by the Indian military against the suspected militants in Pakistan occupied Kashmir.

Now as per a report in Mumbai Mirror, filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Abhishek Kapoor, producer Mahaveer Jain and T-Series head honcho Bhushan Kumar are planning to collaborate for a film based on the recent Balakot air strikes carried out by Indian Air Force(IAF).

The report further stated that the film is already in its research stage. While several actors have expressed their interest in being a part of this project, the makers are yet to finalize the cast. Reportedly, this film is the maker’s way to pay tribute to the IAF and saluting their families. And a major part of the film’s profit will be given to the armed forces welfare fund.

In retaliation to the Balakot air strikes, Pakistan attacked the Indian terrain the next day in which their Air Force F-16 was shot down by Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman. Unfortunately, his MIG 21 Bison was also attacked and he ended up in Pakistan’s Army custody. Abhinandan was released by Pakistan as a ‘peace gesture’ after 60 hours and he received a hero’s welcome in India.

Reportedly the film based on Balakot air strikes will be helmed by Abhishek Kapoor. However, there has been no official announcement about the same yet.

Till then stay tuned for more such interesting updates.
