Sometimes, we get reminded of people in the most unpredictable ways. While we’re going to mourn Sridevi’s going away for many years to come, we got an excuse to get nostalgic about the legend (just for a while) when we looked at Madhuri Dixit’s recent paithani saree outing. The reason? The Dhak Dhak girl wore an ensemble that was similar to one of Sridevi’s looks during the promotions of her movie ‘MOM’. Recently for the Zee Gaurav Awards in the Mumbai, Madhuri turned up in her ever graceful and beautiful self, wearing a silk paithani saree from Madhurya Creations. The intense blue and purple hues made the diva glow all the more and we don’t remember the last time we didn’t get awestruck by the lady’s desi avatar. The number featured oh-so-beautiful swan motifs on the pallu and we literally couldn’t take our eyes off her when she swayed that pallu with her signature million-watt smile and adaa.

While Sridevi had gone the complete Marathi mulgi way, Madhuri’s ethnic look is more understated. The ‘Hawa Hawai’ actress had accessorised her blue nauvari saree, also from the same label Madhurya, with a multilayered gold neckpiece, stack of chunky bangles and traditional nathni. Madhuri has instead opted for a minimalist gold choker and matching earrings from Jaipur Gems.

But both the legends have adorned their hair with mogra and have pulled their hair back in a lovely middle-parted bun. And of course, only these two ladies can look the way they do in sarees. No one else in Bolly town stands a chance against them.

It’s probably a genuine uncanny resemblance or we are just missing Sridevi more than we should. Whatever the case may be, we’re so glad that Madhuri made us remember the late actress fondly for a few moments at least.
