Aamir Khan Calls Kiran Rao And Reena Dutta ‘Amazing People’ As He Reflects On His Divorces, Says, “We Have Respect And Love For Each Other”

Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan has always been candid about his personal life, especially when it comes to his relationships. The actor, who was married to Reena Dutta for 16 years before their divorce in 2002, later tied the knot with filmmaker Kiran Rao in 2005. Though their marriage also ended in 2021, Aamir continues to share a strong bond with both his former wives and their families. Aamir further reflects on his marriages with Kiran & Reena

Aamir Khan On His Marriages

In a recent interview with India Today, Aamir looked back on his two marriages and expressed gratitude for the relationships that shaped his life. “The most important people I have met in my life include Reena – we were together for 16 years. It was a runaway marriage; humne bhaag ke shaadi ki thi (we eloped to get married). Both Reena and Kiran are amazing people. These two women are the ones I have spent my life with, and they have given me so much,” he said.

Despite parting ways, Aamir emphasized that their respect and affection for one another remain unchanged. “Yes, we went through a divorce, but that doesn’t mean we don’t care for each other. We have moved forward in our relationships, but I have the highest regard for both Kiran and Reena and their families. In fact, I am still close to their parents. Reena’s father passed away recently, and I continue to share a strong bond with her family,” he added.

On The Work Front

Aamir Khan was last seen in Laal Singh Chaddha (2022), which failed to perform at the box office. While he has taken a break from acting, his production house remains active in backing new projects. Up next, Aamir will return to the big screen with Sitaare Zameen Par, a thematic sequel to his 2007 hit Taare Zameen Par
