‘Kedarnath’ director Abhishek Kapoor has finally collaborated with Bhushan Kumar’s T-series and Pragya Kapoor’s Guy in the Sky Pictures for his next project ‘Sharaabi’. The story of the comedy-drama is based on the life of a dysfunctional alcoholic. After his musical film ‘Rock On!!’, which won the prestigious ‘National Award for the Best Hindi film’, this film is also likely to have great music.

Taking to Twitter, trade analyst Taran Adarsh made an official announcement about the collaboration. Check out his tweet below:

In a statement, Bhushan Kumar said, “Over the years, Abhishek Kapoor has come to be synonymous with strong content and well-crafted films all of which have spelled success at the box office. T-Series looks forward to backing his vision and presenting audiences with a wholesome entertainer”.

The film is still in pre-production stage and makers have not yet finalised the cast. Talking about the same, Pragya Kapoor told news agency IANS, “We are currently in talks for the casting but it’s too soon to talk about it. A formal announcement will be made soon and it’s definitely going be special because it’s a titular role.”

The ‘Kedarnath’ director said that he and Bhushan have been talking about joining hands for quite some time. They always wanted it to be very special and ‘Sharaabi’ might be the right concoction of comedy, drama and music to build the association.

Abhishek Kapoor has earlier directed several movies such as ‘Aryan: Unbreakable’, ‘Rock On!!’, ‘Kai Po Che’ and ‘Fitoor’. His 2013 release, ‘Kai Po Che’ received the Filmfare Award for Best Screenplay.

Abhishek’s last directorial ‘Kedarnath’ had Sara Ali Khan and Sushant Singh Rajput in the lead role. The film made a collection of more than Rs 68 crore at the box office.
