Fans will have to wait a little longer to watch Sriram Raghavan’s first war film, Ikkis. Why? As per the makers most-recent update, the upcoming action drama – based on the courageous life of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetpal, PVC, will no longer release on Christmas, December 2025, but has been pushed a week ahead.

Alongside announcing that the film’s final trailer will drop this weekend in theatres, the makers also revealed that the Agastya Nanda, Jaideep Jaideep Ahlawat and Dharmendra starrer will release on New Years, January 1. Scroll below to check out the new poster.

Ikkis Gets A New Release Date

Taking to their social media handles less than an hour ago, the makers – Maddock Films, shared, “This new year, gift yourself courage. Final #Ikkis trailer drops this weekend in theatres. A new chapter unfolds in legendary director Sriram Raghvan’s first war film.”

Their caption further read, “The true story of India’s youngest Paramveer Chakra Awarded, Second Lt. Arun Khetarpal. Some heroes die young. Experience courage in cinemas. #Ikkis releasing on 1st January 2026.”

About Ikkis

Directed by Sriram Raghavan, Ikkis is produced Dinesh Vijan under the banner of Maddock Films. The upcoming war drama brings to screen the extraordinary true story of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetpal, India’s youngest Param Vir Chakra awardee. For the unversed, Khetpal showed unparalleled courage during the 1971 Indo-Pak war, becoming a symbol of national pride.

The film features Agastya Nanda as Second Lieutenant Arun Khetpal. It also stars debutant actress, as well as acclaimed artists like Jaideep Ahlawat and the late superstar Dharmendra ji. Initially set to release on December 25, 2025, the film will now have a grand theatrical release on January 1, 2026.
