Ahan Shetty Suniel Shetty

Border 2 has emerged as one of the biggest box-office successes of the year, striking an emotional chord with audiences through its patriotic narrative and powerful ensemble cast. Featuring Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty among others, the war drama marked Ahan’s second outing on the big screen, and one that came with added pressure, given his father Suniel Shetty’s legacy attached to the Border franchise. At an event celebrating the film’s success earlier today, the young actor opened up about the overwhelming love he has received and the emotional moment of recreating his father’s iconic ‘Maa Shakti’ dialogue. Read on to know what he shared.

Ahan Shetty Reveals Suniel Shetty Got Emotional

Speaking about audience response, especially from members of the armed forces community, Ahan admitted that the appreciation has deeply validated his journey as an actor. Sharing how the film strengthened his confidence, he said, “Of course, bahut saara pyaar aur bahut saara support mil raha hai mujhe, especially from the armed forces family. Toh ek sense of confidence aa gaya hai mere mein. Ek sense of validation aa gaya hai ki main ab aage jaakar apne soldiers ko represent kar paaunga, maybe in another film which has characters either from the Army, Navy ya Air Force. So yeah, definitely lot of confidence within me now. Also, because this is my second film to be a part of such a big cast. Being a part of such a big film was very important to me. Main bahut hi khush hoon. Very grateful, very thankful to everyone on this stage.”

Ahan Shetty On Recreating Suniel Shetty’s Iconic ‘Maa Shakti’ Dialogue

The actor also recalled the emotional moment during the film’s narration when he discovered he would be recreating Suniel Shetty’s unforgettable ‘Maa Shakti’ sequence, a scene etched in the memories of Border fans. Ahan revealed that his father was present at the time, and the weight of the moment instantly sank in. He shared, “Maa Shakti wala sequence tha, jab Anurag sir ne actually, when you narrated that part to me, Dad was sitting with me, narration time pe, and we both looked at each other, and Dad was crying. So I knew ki thoda pressure hone wala hai. Lekin, when I went on set, Anurag sir just told me, ‘Ahan, honest raho and do what you need to do.’ And I think that’s what came off on screen.”

The young actor’s candid reflections underscore not only the responsibility of carrying forward a cinematic legacy but also his gratitude for the opportunity. With Border 2 giving him both confidence and emotional milestones, Ahan Shetty seems ready to carve his own path while honouring the legacy his father built.
