Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan’s Housefull 5 Sets New Record As India’s Most Expensive Comedy With THIS Budget – Report

Housefull franchise is back with it’s 5th installment. This time it’s much bigger and funnier than ever. The film has been made on a huge budget of ₹225 crore, making it the most expensive comedy movie in India. And this amount doesn’t even include spending on posters or advertisements.

A large part of the film was shot on a real cruise ship in international waters over 90 days. The rest was filmed on grand sets in Mumbai. The movie features 19 popular actors, making it a star-packed comedy.

Producer Sajid Nadiadwala went all out to make the film look grand. According to reports, Housefull 5
was one of the most difficult films he has worked on. He wanted to give the audience a top-quality comedy without cutting costs. This film’s budget is even bigger than previous comedy hits like Housefull 4 (Rs 165 crore) and Golmaal Again (Rs 142 crore). It also ranks among Akshay Kumar’s three most expensive films, along with Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Sooryavanshi.

Housefull 5 is directed by Tarun Mansukhani, will hit theatres on June 6, 2025. Interestingly, it will have two different endings, a first for Indian cinema. Nadiadwala said he had this idea for over 30 years.

The film has already made Rs 3.88 crore in advance bookings, with over Rs 25,000 tickets sold across India. Out of this, Rs 90.88 lakh has already been collected, with Rs 36.41 lakh from the Hindi version alone.
