Akshay Kumar Wishes Priyadarshan On His 69th Birthday With Bhool Bhulaiyaa Twist

Akshay Kumar surprised Priyadarshan with a fun birthday video featuring Vidya Balan on the filmmaker’s 69th birthday. The playful gesture delighted fans and rekindled nostalgia for Bhool Bhulaiyaa. Bollywood star Akshay Kumar had a delightful surprise for director Priyadarshan on his special day, featuring actress Vidya Balan in his birthday message. The two recently collaborated on the films Bhoot Bangla and Haiwaan.

Akshay shared the video on Instagram, where he was seen sitting on a wooden rocking horse, saying, “Many, many happy returns of the day Priyan sir. You’re turning 69—a great age, sir, a great age—and sending lots of love, luck, good health, and great films your way.” He then added, “Also, a friend of mine wants to wish you, sir.”

Vidya, who starred with Priyadarshan and Akshay in Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007), peeks out from a toy house, saying, “Happy birthday, Priyan sir, and all the best for Bhoot Bangla.” In the caption, Akshay wrote, “Wishing the best birthday to one of the best human beings I know. Have a blessed year, Priyan Sir. Janamdin ki bhooth bhooth badhai.”

The video evoked memories of Bhool Bhulaiyaa, where Akshay and Vidya shared screen space, with Vidya portraying a character possessed by a spirit.

Directed by Priyadarshan, Bhoot Bangla features the iconic team of Priyadarshan, Akshay Kumar, and Paresh Rawal. The film will also star Wamiqa Gabbi, Tabu, Rajpal Yadav, and Mithila Palkar. It is produced by Shobha Kapoor and Ektaa R Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms in partnership with Akshay Kumar’s Cape of Good Films. Co-producers include Faara Sheikh and Vedant Baali.

The story is written by Akash A Kaushik, with a screenplay by Rohan Shankar, Abilash Nair, and Priyadarshan. Rohan Shankar has also penned the dialogues. Bhoot Bangla is scheduled for a theatrical release on April 2, 2026.
