Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan, who has been the iconic host of Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) for 25 years, is reportedly planning to step away from the quiz-based show. Currently in its 16th season, the actor began hosting KBC in 2007 when he was 57 years old.
Amitabh Bachchan To QUIT Kaun Banega Crorepati?
Several sources indicate that Bachchan aims to reduce his workload. He offered an emotional farewell to the show during the final episode of KBC Season 15. Reports suggest that he requested the show’s producers to find a new host, but when they were unable to do so, he continued his role. However, there is speculation that next season could see a shift in hosting duties, with Bachchan potentially stepping down.
Who To Replace Amitabh Bachchan In KBC?
According to a recent survey conducted by the Indian Institute of Human Brands (IIHB) and Rediffusion’s Red Lab, Shah Rukh Khan emerged as the top choice to take over hosting duties. The survey, which included responses from 768 participants, showed that Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and Mahendra Singh Dhoni were seen as strong contenders for the new host role. Yet, there has been no official confirmation regarding any of these potential hosts.
Shah Rukh Khan was favored by 63% of respondents, followed by Aishwarya Rai Bachchan with 51% and MS Dhoni with 37%. Anil Kapoor also received 15% of the votes, respectively. Other names mentioned among voter preferences included Aamir Khan, Madhuri Dixit, Shashi Tharoor, and Chetan Bhagat. Interestingly, 42% of the audience expressed a desire for Amitabh Bachchan to continue as the host of KBC. As of now, fans are eagerly awaiting confirmation from Sony TV on whether the upcoming season will mark the end of Big B’s tenure with the show.
