Bappi Lahiri wants Ranveer Singh to play the younger version in his biopic
It is raining biopics in Bollywood. Over a few years, we have witnessed some of the superb biopics like ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’, ‘Mary Kom’, ‘Dangal’, ‘Neerja’ and ‘The Dirty Picture‘ among others. Last year biopics like ‘Sanju’, ‘Soorma’ and ‘Manto’ stunned us and this year too we have seen some great biopics like ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’, ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’ and ‘Thackeray’ and a few are in the pipeline. Also, music maestro Bappi Lahiri’s biopic is likely to go on floors this year.
In a statement to IANS, Bappi da said, “A lot of people are approaching me to make a film on my life but I haven’t finalised anything. The biopic should start by this year.” He also said that he would like to see ‘Padmaavat’ star Ranveer Singh to play his younger version. “Actor Ranveer Singh could probably play my younger version…you know the 1970s, 80′ and 90s time,” added the veteran singer.
If you don’t know let us tell you that Ranveer is a huge fan of Baapi da and at the 63rd Filmfare awards he paid a tribute to him.
Do you think Ranveer will be able to pull off the character of Bappi Lahiri in the biopic? Do let us know.
On the work front, Ranveer is currently prepping for ’83’ where he will be seen in the character of former Indian captain Kapil Dev. Also, he will be seen in Karan Johar‘s ‘Takht’ that has a stellar cast.
