The 78th edition of the Cannes Film Festival commenced on Tuesday, May 13, with stars from around the world in attendance. Actress Nitanshi Goel from Laapataa Ladies made a stunning debut at the Cannes Film Festival 2025. She walked the red carpet in a custom-designed black and gold gown. The 17-year-old actress attended the screening of Dossier 137 dressed in an elegant strapless gown by Jade by Monica and Karishma (MK). Styled by renowned celebrity stylists Shrey and Urja, Nitanshi’s ensemble showcased Indian craftsmanship. It’s intricate gold floral embroidery, corseted bodice, cinched waist, and a flowing mermaid-style skirt with a train.

The gown’s voluminous waist detail, complemented by a tulle overlay, added grandeur to her look. She kept accessories minimal with a delicate gold swirl choker, serpentine earrings, rings, and high heels to let her outfit shine. She paired it with a natural makeup look featuring pink lip gloss, feathered brows, kohl-lined eyes, and a luminous glow.

Nitanshi’s Day 1 Look

Nitanshi’s first look at the French Riviera featured her draped in an ivory saree. She made an appearance at the India Pavilion in Cannes, capturing the attention of fans with her hair decorated with pins bearing the faces of some of the most iconic and successful female stars in Bollywood history, including Madhubala, Meena Kumari, Rekha, Waheeda Rehman, Sridevi, Nutan, Hema Malini, and Vyjanthimala. As reported by India Today, she was styled by Shrey and Urja for the day, who kept the accessories minimal. Nitanshi’s outfit also honoured Indian craftsmanship, with the blouse intricately handcrafted with pearl and bead details, reminiscent of vintage Indian heirloom work.

Jacqueline Fernandez

Jacqueline Fernandez turned heads at the Red Sea Film Festival gala, held alongside the 78th Cannes Film Festival. With a fiery red velvet corset gown by designers Nicole + Felicia. Her look featured dramatic puffed sleeves adorned with rose details. She paired it with a diamond necklace, matching earrings, and a sleek bun.

The event celebrated women in global cinema at the luxurious Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Cap d’Antibes, where Jacqueline’s captivating appearance reflected her recent success with her lively belly dance number Laal Pari from Housefull 5.

Chhaya Kadam

At Cannes, Chhaya Kadam represented her Marathi film Snow Flower. For her debut appearance, she chose an ombré saree from Suta Bombay. The red-to-pink mul modal saree featured a textured smocked pattern, soft ruffled hem, and a tasselled pallu that draped gracefully over her shoulder. She paired it with a high-neck red blouse with elbow-length sleeves accented by pink borders.

For her accessories, she opted for a bracelet, vibrant pink and blue earrings, and sunglasses. Her hair was styled in a low bun and adorned with flowers. The look was complemented by understated makeup—flushed cheeks, pink lips, Kohl-lined eyes, and a simple round bindi.

Parul Gulati

A work of haute couture was created with hair. Through a clever and innovative approach, a stunning braided hairstyle was showcased by Parul Gulati at Cannes. The look of the actress turned entrepreneur, Nish Hair, a hair extension brand, resulted in a style that was able to carve out its own unique space. The custom-made dress, designed by ITRH². It was entirely constructed from intricately braided hair.

The braids have been skillfully coiled around the neckline to form a structured bust. The design beautifully combined movement—evident in the swaying, untied braids—and detailed texture. Parul kept her hair understated with a neat bun and soft, face-framing waves. Further, her makeup complemented the look with a subtle, rosy nude palette, therefore giving her a radiant yet modest appearance.

Nandinee Khosla

Nandinee Khosla, a theatre actor-turned-screen star, made her Cannes debut with the premiere of Indira Baikeriker’s film The Second Wind. For her first red carpet debut, she chose a sleek black gown by Shantnu & Nikhil.
