Deepak Tijori Duped Of Rs 5 Lakh In Fake Film Funding Promise Linked To Big Production Houses- Deets Inside

Deepak Tijori has lodged a complaint with Bangur Nagar Police against three individuals who allegedly impersonated connections to major production companies like T-Series and Zee Network to dupe him of Rs 5 lakh, promising funding for his upcoming project. The accused are Kavita Shibagh Cooper, Fouzia Arshi, and an unidentified person. They are now facing charges of cheating and criminal breach of trust following the incident reported in Goregaon.

Tijori is best known for his debut film Aashiqui and has been working on a new Hindi film titled Tom, Dick and Mary since December 2024. The fraud reportedly began when a friend introduced Tijori to Kavita Cooper. She claimed to have strong ties with T-Series and Zee Network and could help secure funding for his film. After meeting with her and discussing his project, Tijori was told she had influential connections within Zee Network and could facilitate funding. However, he later learned that Kavita had resigned from T-Series.

What Happened With Deepak Tijori?

Kavita then introduced Tijori to Fouzia Arshi at her residence in Oshiwara in February 2025. Fouzia claimed to be a film producer. She even mentioned launching an airline, asserting she had significant influence within Zee Network. She assured Tijori that she could obtain a “Letter of Interest” from Zee, which would help attract investors for his film.

To persuade Tijori, Fouzia demanded Rs 5 lakh, payable in two instalments of Rs 2.5 lakh. She even arranged a phone call between Tijori and a man claiming to be Mr Joshi from Zee Network. This convinced Tijori to pay the first instalment. Fouzia promised to deliver the letter within a week and signed an agreement to that effect. However, after the payment, they failed to deliver the document and began avoiding Tijori’s calls and inquiries.

Suspecting foul play, Tijori conducted his own investigation and discovered that no one named Joshi worked at Zee Network. He also found that the women had used the names of reputed companies like T-Series and Zee Network to deceive him.

Following this, Tijori approached the police and filed a formal complaint. The police have registered a case of cheating and misappropriation against Kavita Cooper, Fouzia Arshi, and their accomplice. Authorities stated that all three will be summoned for questioning. They assured that an appropriate legal action will be taken after the investigation concludes.
