Deepika Padukone FINALLY Breaks Silence On 8-Hour Work Debate Amid Kalki Sequel, Spirit Exit Row; Says, “I Have Fought My Battles Silently”

She criticized the industry’s deeply rooted “chalta hai” (let it be) attitude, describing it as disorganized and lacking structure, and underscoring the urgent need for systemic reform.

While speaking to CNBC TV 18, Deepika said, “I have done this a many levels, this is not new to me i think even as pay is concerned you know. I have had to deal with with whatever comes with you know I don’t I don’t even know what to call it. But I am someone who always fought my battles silently and for some strange reasons sometimes they become public which is not the way I know. And not the way I’ve been brought up but yes to fight my battles and to do it silently and in a dignified way is the way I know.”

On the personal front, the actress, who welcomed her daughter Dua Padukone Singh with husband Ranveer Singh last year, reflected on how motherhood has transformed her. She shared, “I’ve always been patient, but my tolerance levels have grown. Motherhood pushes you out of your comfort zone and makes you more social—I’ve never been very social before. Interacting with other parents and navigating playschool has been a new experience. Motherhood is helping me grow and I’m now playing my best role.” She also mentioned that motherhood has made her more open and social.
