Deepika Padukone Opens Up On ‘Complicated’ Pregnancy And Motherhood; Says “Went Through A Lot In The 8th, 9th Months”

Deepika Padukone has, for the first time, opened up about her pregnancy and childbirth experience. She shared that her last two months were particularly challenging, describing a difficult time during that period. Recently, Deepika welcomed her first child, a baby girl named Dua Padukone Singh, in September 2024 with Ranveer Singh.

Deepika Padukone Reveals Last 2 Months Of Pregnancy Were Complicated

Deepika Padukone has kept a low profile, focusing mainly on her new role as a mother and spending quality time with her daughter, Dua. In an interview with Marie Claire, Deepika reflected on the moment she first held her daughter. She revealed that her pregnancy and delivery were complicated, sharing, “I went through a lot in the eight, nine months of being pregnant.”

She didn’t delve into specifics but described her final trimester as extremely painful, despite practising yoga. She recalled, “Suddenly you’re discovering body parts because they hurt. But that rib pain was, oh my God.” Reports suggest that Deepika has chosen not to hire a nanny, preferring to handle parenting responsibilities herself, unlike many other celebrities.

Deepika-Ranveer Embraced Parenthood

The couple, Deepika and Ranveer, decided on the name Dua in November. Deepika explained that their focus was on bonding with their baby, allowing her to adjust to the world and start developing her personality. She added, “It felt like a beautiful summary of what she means to us and why she means what she means to us.”

On November 1, 2024, Deepika and Ranveer shared a joint post revealing their daughter’s name and introducing her to the world. The photo featured Dua’s tiny feet, dressed in a red anarkali similar to her mother’s. Alongside the picture, Deepika wrote a heartfelt note and introduced her as Dua Padukone Singh.

Deep-Veer’s Upcoming Projects

Regarding her film career, Ranveer has several projects in the pipeline, including Aditya Dhar’s upcoming film and Farhan Akhtar’s Don 3. Meanwhile, Deepika’s next potential project might be with Shah Rukh Khan in the film King, although she hasn’t officially confirmed it. Her most recent work was in Nag Ashwin’s sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD.
