Vidya Balan

When Narendra Modi announced his demonetisation move to put a check on black money in India, it created state of panic all over the country. Well, even our Bollywood biggies seem to be affected by this move. A few films did suffer at the box office, while shooting of a few films was brought to a halt. ‘Kahaani 2: Durga Rani Singh’ star Vidya Balan too is facing a few issues, all thanks to demonetisation. The new Rs 2000 notes are causing a trouble for Vidya as she is unable to get a change for the same.

Just like the common man, Vidya too is finding it difficult to get a change of Rs 2000. On demonetisation, she was recently quoted saying, “I’m still facing troubles because no one has a change of Rs 2000. For your basic necessities, you need change. I had sent someone to withdraw money and he got only Rs 2000 notes and for everything else, you can use your credit card.”

She further added, “For your basic necessities, you really need cash and I’m actually happy that the sea-link toll has opened up, hopefully they’ll give us the change because no one seems to be having it. I have no opinions on demonetisation and I’m given to believe that it’s a good step, though I do think that people have hugely been facing inconvenience and hope that it’ll be worth it at the end of the day.”

Vidya just narrated the misery of common man in the simplest words.
