He expressed sadness and pity for those who dismiss the film as jingoistic propaganda, saying, “If you can’t tolerate such a film, go and make one yourself—put some money, hire writers.” He also criticised those who tried to label The Kashmir Files as propaganda, urging them to be ashamed of themselves.
