Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar: The Revenge, the much-anticipated sequel to the blockbuster Dhurandhar, opened to an impressive response in India, earning a staggering Rs 102 crore. However, Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar 2 was banned in Pakistan. The film also made its way into the country’s Lyari district on the very first day, thanks to a pirated version.

Dhurandhar 2 Is Being Watched In Pakistan

Pakistani journalist Khalid Mehmood Khalid shared a video on X showing himself watching the film on his home screen, captioning it: “Watching Dhurandhar 2 in Lahore.”

Despite the Ban, Dhurandhar 2 Hits 2 Million Downloads In Just 12 Days

Pakistan’s authorities, including the ISI, attempted to block Dhurandhar following its Indian release in December last year. However, in today’s digital age, their efforts proved ineffective. An IANS report states, “At least 2 million illegal downloads of the film have been recorded in Pakistan within just two weeks. It has become the most pirated film in the country, surpassing movies like 2.0 and Raees. While the ban may have cost the filmmakers Rs 50-60 crore, the film’s portrayal of Pakistan as a terror state has nonetheless reached audiences nationwide.”

Pakistani viewers accessed the film through Telegram channels, underground streams, and VPNs. Its status as the most pirated film to date underscores the ISI’s failure to control the situation. All blackout attempts fell short, reports IANS.

Dhurandhar released in December 2025. It was the highest-grossing film of that year and the top earner in a single language. The sequel features returning stars Ranveer Singh, Arjun Rampal, R. Madhavan, and Sanjay Dutt.
