In his social media post on March 18, Varma humorously noted, “Everyone who watched Dhurandhar 2 today told me they don’t just love the film—they want to marry it.”

He further described the movie’s impact, saying, “After last night’s screening of #Dhurandhar2, its sheer cumulative influence—whether in terms of expected box office collections, audience excitement, social impact, its unconventional cinematic style, or the psychological punch of its audio-visual experience—will be on a level comparable to Sholay multiplied by 100. It will make all the greatest classics from Mughal-e-Azam onwards look like mere TV serials.”

Adding to his grand predictions, Varma declared, “This is the birth of a new cinematic era, and the complete obliteration of everything that came before in the old world of cinema… The very word ‘director’ will now be associated with @adityadharfilms. Even Steven Spielberg and Christopher Nolan should drop everything and watch Dhurandhar 2 on its first day, first show.”

Dhurandhar 2 Box Office Predictions

Ahead of the film’s release, Varma forecasted that if Dhurandhar 2 earns between Rs 1,500 and 2,000 crore, it could overthrow the current dominance of South Indian films at the box office.

The film opened to a strong response in paid previews, with Sacnilk reporting that Dhurandhar 2 raked in Rs 44 crore in India from these early shows.
