FIR Filed Against Dhurandhar Location Manager For Flying Drone In Security Area Without Permission

A few days ago, leaked images from the sets of Dhurandhar: The Revenge appeared online and quickly went viral. The photos showed Sanjay Dutt and Arjun Rampal filming in South Mumbai’s Ballard Estate, which was being transformed into Karachi’s Lyari neighbourhood for the shoot. However, the filming was abruptly halted two days ago by the Mumbai Police due to the crew flying a drone without proper permission; an FIR has been filed against Dhurandhar’s location manager.

FIR Filed Against Dhurandhar Location Manager For Flying Drone In Security Area Without Permission

According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, an FIR was filed against location manager Rinku Rajpal Valmiki under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for “knowingly disobeying lawful orders from officials.” The report stated that the crew used drones without authorisation. It was especially concerning given that Fort is a high-security area of the city.

The article further revealed that on February 1, Sanjay Dutt arrived on set to shoot a pivotal scene for Dhurandhar: The Revenge. He was dressed in a white Pathani suit, holding a gun, with the drone capturing his intense walk. Suddenly, police arrived, and the shoot was halted.

Sources confirmed that Zonal DCP Pravin Mundhe stated an FIR had been filed and that Rinku Rajpal Valmiki was arrested. Police officials added that, although the line producers had obtained permission from the Maharashtra Film, Stage and Cultural Development Corporation Limited for the shoot, they hadn’t secured permission to operate drones. The report also quoted resident Sanjay Gurav. He mentioned that the crew blocked two parallel roads in Fort—Perin Nariman Street and Modi Street for three days. The dates stated were January 30 to February 1, for the filming.
