Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar The Revenge is all set to release in a little over 24 hours – with its paid preview shows, and the hype surrounding it is at an all-time high. As fans continue to book tickets to see Ranveer Singh’s Hamza Ali Mazari/Jaskirat Singh Rangi infiltrate Karachi’s criminal syndicates and political power structures in Pakistan, we’ve come across an interesting news.
As per a recent observation, the hype surrounding Dhurandhar 2 is at an all-time high and its impact is being felt at one of Mumbai’s most iconic cinemas – Maratha Mandir.
Dhurandhar 2 Pushes DDLJ Out Of Regular Spot At Maratha Mandir
A quick look at Book My Show reveals that Maratha Mandir – the theatre that has been screening Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ) uninterruptedly for 30-years, is making a scheduling adjustment for the Ranveer Singh starrer. As per the ticket booking website, the iconic cinema which has traditionally screened the Shah Rukh Khan-Kajol starrer at 11:30 AM daily, will now screen it at 10 AM in the coming days owing to Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar The Revenge.
In other news, the advance booking for Dhurandhar 2 is breaking some all-time records. As per reports, the film has sold almost 8 lakh tickets for its paid preview show, grossing around Rs 35 crore already. Pawan Kalyan’s OG became the highest grossing film via advance booking last year with a collection of Rs 25 crore. At time of going online, the film has earned nearly Rs 21 crore gross for day 1 advance bookings. Overseas, the Ranveer Singh-starrer has become the first Indian film to earn $5 million from pre-sales in North America. Its overall advance booking collections globally exceed Rs 125 crore.
The film will also be running round-the-clock in several theatres in Mumbai and Thane as well as some other parts of the country.

Presented by Jio Studios and produced by Aditya Dhar’s B62 Studios, Dhurandhar: The Revenge is written and directed by Dhar. The espionage thriller is co-produced by Jyoti Deshpande and Lokesh Dhar. The spy action thriller will see Ranveer Singh, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan, Sara Arjun, Rakesh Bedi, Danish Pandor and Gaurav Gera reprise their roles from the first film.
Unlike the first instalment, the upcoming high-octane spy-action spectacle will release in five languages — Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. It will release in cinemas globally – aside from the Gulf belt, Pakistan a couple more countries, on March 19, coinciding with Gudi Padwa and Ugadi. Paid preview shows are all set to take place tomorrow, March 18, in multiple theatres across India.
