Riding high on a historic box office run, Dhurandhar The Revenge continues to dominate globally, crossing a staggering Rs 1,400 crore and even surpassing the lifetime earnings of its first instalment. Directed by Aditya Dhar and headlined by Ranveer Singh, the film has become one of the biggest cinematic successes in recent times. While the spotlight largely remains on its lead cast, actor Vikramm Bhambri, who plays Shakeel Commando, one of Ranveer’s gang members, has now opened up about his journey, revealing both the highs and the disappointments behind the scenes.
‘Shakeel Commando’ Vikramm Bhambri Reveals His Scenes Were Cut From Dhurandhar 2
Speaking about landing the role, Vikramm shared how the character name itself initially shaped his perception. He said to Times of India, “At that time, I felt it sounded like a terrorist-type name. But then I told myself, at least I have a name, and I am not an extra. In theatre, we learn that if your character has a name, it means you have an important role. Later, when we started working, we were told we were gang members; we were with Ranveer. That felt really good.”
However, once the film was released, Vikramm admitted that his excitement turned to disappointment upon noticing his reduced screen presence. Reflecting on that moment, he said, “But when the film was released. I didn’t see as much presence and visibility as we had shot. When I watched Part 1 with my parents, I felt very sad. An actor wants visibility, so I felt unsettled for a couple of days because many of the scenes we shot were chopped off. Maybe due to unavoidable reasons. But that was very disappointing for me. My parents kept telling me to be thankful, but the heart doesn’t always listen.”
Vikramm Bhambri Recalls Heartfelt Moment That Changes Everything
Despite the initial setback, Vikramm Bhambri revealed that a simple, unexpected interaction completely changed his perspective. Recalling the moment, he shared, “Then something happened; on the second day. A delivery person came and said, ‘Sir, I saw you yesterday… You are in Dhurandhar, right?’ That moment changed everything. I became the happiest person.”
Following that experience, Vikramm chose to shift his focus from what was lost to what he had gained. He acknowledged that being part of such a massive film itself was a big achievement. And said he now feels grateful rather than disappointed.
While not every performance translates fully on screen, Vikramm Bhambri’s journey in Dhurandhar The Revenge reflects the realities of filmmaking, where edits can change outcomes, but recognition still finds its way. Today, as the film continues its record-breaking run, the actor chooses gratitude over regret, embracing his place in one of the biggest blockbusters of the year.
