Dhurandhar Uncut Version

Rumours around filmmaker Aditya Dhar’s ambitious 7.5-hour director’s cut of Dhurandhar, starring Ranveer Singh, recently took social media by storm. Claims of a limited theatrical release on April 5, along with premium screenings and a marathon-style format, quickly grabbed attention and left cinephiles both excited and confused.

Dhurandhar’s 7.5-Hour Long Director Cut To Release In Theaters This Weekend?

The buzz began after a viral post by Parth Chaturvedi claimed that Dhurandhar and Dhurandhar: The Revenge would be combined into a 7-hour-30-minute extended version, complete with three intervals, English subtitles, and enhanced sound mixing for clearer vocals.

The post also mentioned a new certificate issued by the Central Board of Film Certification dated March 31, 2026, with screenings planned in premium formats like IMAX and HDR, and ticket prices reportedly going up to Rs 1100 for the combined experience. Adding fuel to the speculation, an alleged CBFC certificate began circulating widely on X (formerly Twitter), making the claims appear more credible at first glance.

However, things quickly began to unravel as users pointed out inconsistencies. Several people flagged the post as an April Fool’s prank, calling it “engagement farming” and noting that the CBFC certificate image appeared digitally altered. The scepticism gained further weight when Chaturvedi himself hinted at the joke in his bio, which read, “Don’t trust posts today, they could be April Fool’s Day posts.”

Fake CBFC Certificate For April Fool’s Busted

He also directly acknowledged it in replies, responding “Haha, you caught me” to one user who mentioned April 1, and even telling another hopeful fan, “Sorry, bro, you may unfollow if you wish.” Meanwhile, other users questioned the feasibility of such a release, pointing out issues like separate audio rights for the two films and the improbability of an “uncensored” version being cleared for theatrical screenings by the CBFC.

Despite the viral chatter and growing online debate, the makers of Dhurandhar have not issued any official statement on the matter. When IANS attempted to reach out, they remained unavailable for comment, leaving a small window of ambiguity, though all current evidence strongly suggests the viral post and certificate are not genuine.

While the idea of a 7.5-hour Dhurandhar director’s cut sparked excitement among fans, it now appears to be an elaborate April Fool’s prank that gained unexpected traction online. Until the makers officially weigh in, the viral claims remain unverified—but for now, all signs point to fiction rather than fact.
