Farah Khan Clears The Air With Deepika Padukone

Farah Khan has put an end to all the buzz surrounding her and Deepika Padukone’s Instagram activity and her much-talked-about “8-hour workday” remark. The filmmaker clarified that there was no fallout between them and revealed how their bond is far stronger than what social media suggests.

Speaking to Pinkvilla, she said, “To begin with, we were not following each other earlier, too!! We had made a pact during the Happy New Year shoot that we wouldn’t communicate on Instagram; instead, we would direct message and call. We don’t even wish birthday wishes on Insta because Deepika doesn’t like it. Also, my 8-hour comment wasn’t a dig, it was to make Dilip say that he will now also work 8 hours when he actually works just for 2 hours.”

Farah also addressed her viral comment, which many thought was aimed at Deepika’s working conditions. She further added, “No one even knows I was one of the first few people who went to see Deepika when Dua was born, not everything is done for Instagram and paps.”

She went on to share a personal anecdote that showed how close she is to the actress and her family. “No one even knows I was one of the first few people who went to see Deepika when Dua was born, not everything is done for Instagram and paps,” she added.

Meanwhile, Deepika Padukone has been in the news for her professional choices. She was reportedly dropped from Kalki 2 soon after stepping away from Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit. According to reports, her conditions—including an eight-hour workday, higher pay, and a share in profits—did not align with the filmmakers’ expectations.

Farah’s statements now clear the air, showing that despite the chatter around unfollows and comments, her friendship with Deepika remains strong, personal, and beyond the world of social media.
