While the duo continues to stay focused on their careers and avoids making anything official, filmmaker Karan Johar has added more fuel to the speculation with his recent comments.

Karan Johar Calls Ahaan Panday, Aneet Padda “IT couple”

During his appearance on Serving It Up With Sania, hosted by tennis icon Sania Mirza, Karan hinted that Ahaan and Aneet may indeed be dating. He said, “Well… they are not yet official, so if they are going to be, I don’t know whether or not because I haven’t checked.” His playful remark quickly caught everyone’s attention, and fans began referring to the pair as “Ahneet.”

Karan Johar on Saiyaara’s success

At a press conference in Mumbai for Manoj Manchu and Teja Sajja’s Mirai in September, Karan also spoke about the rising popularity of Ahaan and Aneet after Saiyaara. He explained that every film has its own journey and nothing can be predicted. “Sometimes big-star movies work wonders, sometimes fresh faces lead the way. But there’s no formula,” he said. According to him, today’s actors understand the changing industry and are more in tune with the film’s vision.

He added that while many films with newcomers will continue to release, not all of them will be another Saiyaara. “Box office has no rules. You create your story, tell it differently, and then it’s up to the audience.”

Karan also praised Ahaan and Aneet for winning hearts with their performances. “Woh superstars nahin the; ab superstars ban gaye hain,” he said.
