Diljit Dosanjh

Singer Diljit Dosanjh has landed in controversy after the trailer of his upcoming film Sardaar Ji 3 was released. The film stars Pakistani actress Hania Aamir, which has sparked backlash due to political tensions between India and Pakistan after a recent terrorist attack.

Diljit Dosanjh Shares Cryptic Note

Amid the controversy, Diljit shared a cryptic note on his Instagram story that many believe is a subtle response. He posted the message “Censored before Release,” referring to his other film Punjab 95, which is based on the life of human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra. That film was delayed earlier this year due to censorship issues.

Following the Pahalgam terror attack, Pakistani artists have been banned from working in India. Although the makers of Sardaar Ji 3 have decided not to release the movie in India, Diljit is still being criticized for his involvement in the project.

FWICE On Diljit’s Sardaar Ji 3 With Pakistani Actors

After the trailer release, Diljit posted, “Sardaar Ji 3 releasing 27th June OVERSEAS Only.” Soon after, many social media users criticized him for working with a Pakistani actor. The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) reacted strongly. BN Tiwari, President of FWICE, told Hindustan Times that Diljit had hurt Indian sentiments and disrespected the country.

Despite the rising backlash, Diljit Dosanjh has not made a direct public statement on the issue. Fans now await to see whether the singer-actor will respond more openly, or if the controversy will impact his future projects and music releases.
