Diljit Dosanjh, one of India’s most loved singers and performers, is currently winning hearts across the globe with his AURA World Tour. From India to North America and now Australia, his concerts are drawing massive crowds. However, despite his international success, Diljit recently shared that racism is something he still faces, even today.
Diljit Dosanjh On Racist Comments
Before his concert in Sydney, the singer posted a behind-the-scenes video showing how carefully he prepares for his performances. Walking across the grand CommBank Stadium, Diljit checked the sound systems and lights while discussing a technical issue that was troubling him. His background music wasn’t syncing with his vocals — a problem he had faced before. “Exactly one year ago, I had the same issue during a show in New Delhi. People come dressed up and excited, so it’s my duty to make sure they enjoy every moment,” he said to News 18.
The tone of his video later turned serious when he spoke about the racism he encountered upon arriving in Australia. Diljit said that after local media covered his arrival, someone sent him the comments from a paparazzi post, and some were extremely offensive. “People wrote things like, ‘The new Uber driver is here,’ or ‘The new 7/11 employee has landed.’ I’ve seen many such racist remarks,” he shared.
Despite the negativity, Diljit responded with grace and maturity. “I don’t mind being compared to a cab or truck driver. If truck drivers stop working, people wouldn’t even get bread at home. I’m not angry — I send love to everyone, even those who say such things,” he added.
With his humility and positive attitude, Diljit continues to inspire millions, proving that kindness and talent shine brighter than hate.
