Dino Morea Recalls Breaking Up With Bipasha Basu During Raaz Shoot; Says, “It Was Tought, She Was Upset”

Vikram Bhatt’s Raaz was one of the popular horror movies of 2002 which has got cult status over the years. The film was not only known for his eerie soundtrack but also for the electric chemistry between Dino Morea and Bipasha Basu. It was also during that film that the couple broke up. Dino Morea recently opened up about his breakup with Bipasha Basu and shares how it emotionally affected them.

For the uninitiated, Dino and Bipasha first crossed paths on a blind date arranged by a mutual friend during their early modeling days. Their relationship blossomed, and the two were together from 1996 to 2001 before eventually parting ways. Talking about his break up, Dino told Pinkvilla, “Jab Raaz ke dauran, we were breaking up, Bipasha and me, and to be honest, it was me who was breaking up with Bipasha because we had some issues. So she found it very tough and I was seeing her every day on the set. She was upset. It was very, very tough at that point for me to see someone I care about so much. We had already chosen different paths, and though we tried to work things out, it just wasn’t happening. Eventually, I moved on.”

Dino further mentioned that even though it was tough for them to part ways, they knew that the time would heal everything. “We were both upset but we had to go separate ways. We had to. It was very tough but nothing can heal anything more than time. That phase was extremely difficult, but I truly believe that with time, everything falls into place,” the actor added.

Dino concluded by saying that over the year the bitterness between them disappeared and they became good friends. “We became the best of friends after that. That moment is very tough; it’s like anger, emotions, rage, but time will make you understand that it was a moment. I really enjoy that person and she enjoys me so let’s be friends at least,” he concluded.

The Raaz actress has always grabbed limelight for her relationships. Before John Abraham, Bipasha dated Dino Morea from 1996 to 2002. Ahead of Raaz release, they broke up. After this, she was with John Abraham as mentioned. Basu was also rumored to have dated Daggubati during the release of their 2011 movie Dum Maaro Dum. She even dated Harman Baweja for a brief time. However, she got married to Karan Singh Grover in 2014 after they fell in love on Alone sets. Karana nd Bipasha are not parents to daughter Devi.

Dino briefly dated Lara Dutta from 2008 to 2009 and was later in a relationship with designer Nandita Mahtani from 2010 to 2017. On the work front, the actor will next be seen in ‘The Royals’ with Zeenat Aman, Bhumi Pednekar, Ishaan Khatter, Sakshi Tanwar, Nora Fatehi, and Milind Soman. He also has ‘Housefull 5’ with Akshay Kumar, Jacqueline Fernandez, Abhishek Bachchan, and Riteish Deshmukh.
