Director Priyadarshan has finally responded to the buzz around Hera Pheri 3. This comes especially after Paresh Rawal confirmed his return to the much-awaited comedy film. Fans were earlier upset when Rawal stepped away from the project, but excitement returned once he announced his comeback.
Priyadarshan On Paresh Rawal’s Return
The film also grabbed headlines due to a reported legal dispute where Akshay Kumar allegedly filed a Rs 25 crore case against Paresh Rawal for harming the project’s progress. Speaking about the controversy, Priyadarshan shared that the issue was resolved privately among the lead actors. Reacting to Paresh joining the film, he stated HT City, “I am living in South India, whenever a film is signed, I will go to shoot it. I am only committed to Akshay Kumar to do this film (as a maker), I don’t know anybody else.”
He added, “Suniel, Akshay, and Paresh are my best friends. There was a difference of opinion between them that has been sorted out. This is all I know. I don’t think anybody else is involved in it.”
As for when the film will begin shooting, the director mentioned that he just finished work on Bhoot Bangla. He added that Hera Pheri 3 could go into full production sometime next year.
About Hera Pheri Franchise
The Hera Pheri franchise began with the 2000 film Hera Pheri, directed by Priyadarshan. Its sequel, Phir Hera Pheri, released in 2006, was directed by Neeraj Vora. The third installment is reportedly being helmed by Priyadarshan once again. The characters from the film, Babu Bhaiya(Paresh Rawal), Raju(Akshay Kumar) and Shyam (Suniel Shetty) continue to remain etched in fans hearts. Even the memes on them bring back nostalgia.
