DYK, Queen Of Bollywood Was Offered Vidya Balan’s Silk Smitha Role In The Dirty Picture

Kangana Ranaut Was The FIRST Choice To Play Silk Smitha In The Dirty Picture

However, not many know that Vidya Balan was not the first choice for the film. The role of Silk was originally offered to Kangana Ranaut, who was already a leading actress in Bollywood at the time. Kangana has confirmed in several interviews that she was approached for the part but decided to turn it down. She later said she had no regrets about her decision and appreciated Vidya’s portrayal of the character.

Speaking about the film, Kangana said in an interview, “The Dirty Picture is a brilliant movie. I don’t think I could have played the role better than Vidya Balan. She was simply outstanding in it.” The actress admitted that she didn’t fully realize the film’s potential at first, but later admired its impact and success.
