Genelia Deshmukh Calls Working With Aamir Khan In Sitaare Zameen Par ‘Incredibly Special’; Says, “This Role Is Unlike Anything I’ve Done Before”

Aamir Khan Productions, has created a buzz ever since its announcement. A sequel to the heartwarming Taare Zameen Par, the film is expected to captivate audiences. Genelia Deshmukh will star opposite Aamir Khan, playing his love interest.

During a recent interview, Genelia expressed her excitement about collaborating with Aamir after their iconic film Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na, backed by Aamir Khan Productions. She shared how thrilled she is to be a part of a project that brings her back to meaningful cinema alongside a powerhouse performer like Aamir.

Talking about working with Aamir Khan in the film, Genelia shared, “Collaborating with Aamir Khan Productions after all these years feels incredibly special. The trailer of Sitaare Zameen Par reveals Aamir Khan as a troubled basketball coach whose reckless actions land him in legal trouble. As punishment, he’s assigned to coach a team of specially-abled children, setting the stage for an inspiring journey. Alongside Aamir and Genelia Deshmukh, the film introduces 10 debutant actors, including Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, and Simran Mangeshkar, among others.

Made under the banner of Aamir Khan Productions, Sitaare Zameen Par will star Aamir Khan and Genelia Deshmukh. The lyrics are penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya and the music is composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. The screenplay is written By Divy Nidhi Sharma. The film is produced by Aamir Khan and Aparna Purohit, with Ravi Bhagchandka as producer. Directed by R. S. Prasanna, the film will be released in theatres on 20th June, 2025.
