Hera Pheri 3 Controversy

Actor Suniel Shetty has recently reacted to the controversy surrounding Hera Pheri 3 and Paresh Rawal’s sudden exit from the franchise. He emphasized that the movie just “cannot happen” without Rawal’s renowned character, Baburao Ganpatrao Apte, echoing the opinions of ardent fans.

Suniel Shetty Says, ‘Hera Pheri 3 Can NOT Happen Without Baburao’

Speaking to ANI, Suniel Shetty said, “It cannot happen. 100 per cent cannot happen without Paresh Rawal. It can have 1 per cent chance without me and Akshay, but 100% can’t happen without Paresh ji. No, it doesn’t. Raju and Shyam, if they’re not hammered by Babu here, it doesn’t work.”

Suniel also revealed that he was in the middle of promoting his upcoming film Kesari Veer: Legends of Somnath when the news broke. He first heard the news through his children, Athiya and Ahan Shetty. Talking about the same to India Today, he stated, “They both sent it to me within 15 minutes, asking ‘papa what is this?’ And I was here doing my interviews, and I felt like ‘holy s***’.”

The Hera Pheri franchise began with the 2000 film Hera Pheri, directed by Priyadarshan. Its sequel, Phir Hera Pheri, released in 2006, was directed by Neeraj Vora. The third installment is reportedly being helmed by Priyadarshan once again. The characters from the film, Babu Bhaiya(Paresh Rawal), Raju(Akshay Kumar) and Shyam (Suniel Shetty) continue to remain etched in fans hearts. Even the memes on them bring back nostalgia.
