Bollywood’s ‘Singham’ Ajay Devgn recently launched the trailer of ‘Parched‘, a movie that has already received critical acclaim at major international festivals. It was recently in news when controversial steamy scenes of the lead actress Radhika Apte leaked online and created a furore.

During a media interaction when Devgn was asked about the controversial scenes, as to whether they are suitable for the Indian audience, the ‘Drishyam’ actor’s blunt reply shocked the journo. Ajay said, “Aapne dekh liye toh aap khush hai? Aapke wajah se piracy hoti hai kyunki aap dekhte hai. Ab yeh toh film mein jaake dekhiye ke kya dekhne ko milega or kya dekhne ko nahi milega.”(sic)

Speaking about the movies and scenes leaking online Devgn was of a view that it affects the producers who have put their life earnings to make it. Devgn further added, “It’s a very big problem. Jaise ki Leena ne bhi kaha ke agar aise hi chalta raha toh filme ban-na band ho jayegi. Itne nuksaan hote hai haal hi mein kaafi filme jo leak hui hai unke one of the producers unka main naam nahi lunga iss waqt, unke aakhon mein aansu the jab wo mujhe mile the.”(sic)

He pleaded with the audience that it is their responsibility to watch the movies in the theaters rather than downloading them and watching. He said, “I think yeh responsibility hai agar sab uthaye, audience uthaye ke log apna ghar-baar bech ke, daav pe lagake filme banate hai, aur phir jab aisa ho jata hai toh logon ke liye yeh bahot aasaan hai ke download karke dekh li. But unn logon ka kya hota hai jo barbaad ho jate hai?” (sic)

At present, the actor is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film ‘Shivaay’ that is all set to clash with Karan Johar’s ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ this Diwali. ‘Parched’, on the other hand, will hit the theatres on September 23rd, 2016.
