The Dabangg Khan recently confessed that, back in 2008, when he made his television debut with ‘Dus Ka Dum’, he was scared to show his real side to the audience. But now that he is returning back to the small screen with a revamped version of the reality show, after having hosted many seasons of Bigg Boss, he has come to terms to be himself in front of people.

At the launch of ‘Dus Ka Dum’ the actor said, “This show came in first in 2008, and I marked my TV debut. There was a little negativity about me that time and I was really scared to come and show my original personality through ‘Dus Ka Dum’, but then I decided to come on TV. I felt that TV is the most powerful medium around, I asked my father whether I should do it because there will be the common man. I was scared of being me or who I am.”

Salman sought his father, writer Salim Khan’s advise, who told him “this is what you are. Go and show the world who you are. If you’re accepted, it’s okay, if not, then change yourself.”

Salman realised the power of television when people near his Panvel farmhouse forgot about ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’, Prem, Samir, Raja, Karan of ‘Karan Arjun’, and remembered him for ‘Dus Ka Dum’.(Also Read: This popular television actor will play Salman Khan’s sister’s husband in ‘Bharat’)

The actor, is currently out on bail after being convicted in a 1998 black-buck poaching case. He is at present gearing for the release of his upcoming film ‘Race 3’. The Remo D’Souza directorial also stars, Jacqueline Fernandez, Anil Kapoor, Daisy Shah, Bobby Deol and Saqib Saleem in pivotal roles. He will next start work on Ali Abbas Zafar’s ‘Bharat’ and will be seen hosting ‘Dus Ka Dum’ too.
