International Daughter’s Day will be celebrated on August 11. Singer Kanika Kapoor has decided to do something special for this day. The singer, who has doled out a number of peppy songs that have turned out to be major chartbusters, has lent her voice to a new song that propagates the message of protecting and cherishing the girl child.

Kanika who is a mother of two daughters was quite excited to be a part of the song that is titled ‘Beti’. The ‘Baby Doll’ singer decided to keep her other professional and personal commitments on hold to be a part of this project.

Kanika said, “I have been happy to be associated with the cause in some way. When I heard the song, I immediately wanted to be a part of it. As a mother of two beautiful girls, Daughter’s Day is a special occasion to me and the cause of the girl child will always remain close to my heart.”

‘Beti’ is written and composed by director Tannishtha Sarkar for his documentary film titled “Tara…In Search of Stolen Stars”. The film is based on human trafficking and sex trade in India and the implication of gender bias.
