Tanvi The Great: Anupam Kher’s Directorial Venture Is Inspired By Priyanka Chopra’s Barfi Character? Actor Makes SHOCKING Revelation

Earlier today, Anupam Kher launched the new teaser of his directorial venture, Tanvi The Great. While the first teaser was filled with back shots of the protagonist, the latest clip unveiled – unveiled by Kajol, presented Anupam Kher’s Actor Prepares’ Shubhangi as its leading lady. During the launch event, Kher got candid about several things, including the similarities between Tanvi and Jhilmil (played by Priyanka Chopra) from Anurag Basu’s Barfi.

Tanvi The Great Inspired By Barfi?

Revealing whether he used Anurag Basu’s 2012 romance-comedy Barfi as inspiration for Tanvi The Great, director Anupam Kher said, “With all my love for Priyanka Chopra, Ranbir Kapoor and Anurag Basu da – I have not seen Barfi. I don’t know why, I have not seen it. So, I won’t know. I have only seen clips of that film.”

Kher – who is returning to the director’s chair after 23 years, then asked his team, “Bata du what is the source? Or should I save it for the trailer launch?” When his team asked him to refrain from spilling more details, Anupam stated, “The film is based on the conversation I had with somebody who is special. That’s the inspiration. This is what I can tell you at this stage.”

The Tanvi The Great director continued, “I did my research. I have never done research for any acting project. I wanted to make an authentic film as the theme is such. That’s why we composed the music a year before the shoot as I knew the film like the back of my hand. I knew the situation beforehand.”

Talking about Barfi, Anupam Kher added, “Maybe, I’ll see that film now. Just because I have not seen that film is not an insult to them in any way. I am a great admirer of their work.”

About The Film

Directed by Anupam Kher, with music composed by Oscar-winner M. M. Keeravani, Tanvi The Great is produced by Anupam Kher Studios in collaboration with NFDC. It is one of the first few films to introduce its technicians and behind-the-scenes team before unveiling its lead actress. The film will have its world premiere at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival, followed by several other international screening before an India release. The film will be released soon.
