Janhvi Kapoor Turns 29; Climbs 3550 Steps To Tirumala Venkateswara Temple Barefoot, Seeks Blessing On Birthday- Watch

Janhvi Kapoor celebrated her 29th birthday by barefootly climbing 3,550 steps to seek the blessings of Lord Venkateswara at Tirupati. Known for her acting talent, she is also a loving daughter and a caring sister to Khushi Kapoor, and deeply spiritual. Every year, she visits the Tirumala Venkateswara Temple in Tirupati, also called the Tirupati Balaji Temple, especially on her late mother Sridevi’s birth anniversary.

Janhvi often visits the temple on her own birthday as well, usually accompanied by her boyfriend, Shikhar Pahariya. However, for her 29th birthday on March 6 this year, she returned to Tirupati alone with her friends, climbing the 3,550 steps barefoot to offer her prayers. Shikhar was not present this time.

A video capturing Janhvi’s pilgrimage to the Tirumala Venkateswara Temple in Andhra Pradesh has gone viral. She looked stunning in a floral white kurta, her hair in a simple braid, accessorised with white jhumkas. She undertook the challenging climb of approximately 9-12 km, taking about 4-5 hours, to seek Lord Venkateswara’s blessings.

Janhvi On Her South Indian Connection Due To Mother Late Sridevi

In a recent chat with Grazia India, Janhvi said, “I feel very connected to the Andhra, Telangana, Tamil Nadu culture because it’s all very familiar to me and it’s a big part of my identity. The legacy that I carry and the goodwill that I can enjoy right now is a result of all the love that those audiences have given my mother (Sridevi), and it’s that love that I’ve inherited.”

When Janhvi Kapoor On Being Spiritual

In a 2024 interview with Curly Tales, Janhvi opened up about her spiritual journey. She shared, “Over the past 5-6 years, I’ve become very spiritually inclined. I find solace in my religion and spirituality, especially in Lord Balaji.” She added, “When I feel the inner call, I know I need to visit Tirupati, climb the stairs, and see the deity. I’ve already been three times this year and plan to go again on my mom’s birthday.”

Janhvi Kapoor’s Projects

On the film front, Janhvi had three releases in 2025—Homebound with Ishaan Khatter and Vishal Jethwa, Param Sundari with Sidharth Malhotra, and Sanny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari alongside Varun Dhawan. She is also set to star with superstar Ram Charan in the highly anticipated film Peddi. This marks her second Telugu project after Devara: Part 1 with Jr NTR (2024). Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, Peddi, a sports action drama, is scheduled to release in theatres on April 30.
