John Abraham’s Action Thriller Tehran FINALLY Gets A Release Date; Actor Looks Intense In First Look Poster

John Abraham has unveiled the first look poster of Tehran, which is set to premiere on OTT during the Independence Day week. The geopolitical thriller, directed by Arun Gopalan, features Manushi Chhillar alongside John. The actor, sporting a new look with a bleeding forehead and a long beard. He was seen gazing into the horizon in the poster. The trailer for the film is scheduled to be released tomorrow.

Tehran has been in development for some time. Initially planned for a 2023 release, it now appears poised to debut this year. On July 31, the filmmakers announced that John Abraham’s upcoming geopolitical action-thriller would premiere on Zee5 via OTTplay Premium during Independence Week.

They also shared that the trailer would be out on August 1. The message read, “A blast in Delhi didn’t just hit an embassy — it awakened a dormant fire. Tehran arrives this Independence Week, only on ZEE5. #TehranOnZEE5.”

Recently, John Abraham discussed Tehran. He described the film as “for those who closely follow the Russia-Ukraine conflict and question the roles of countries like China, Iran, and Palestine in today’s geopolitical landscape.” Calling it a “stunning” film, he hinted at the layered, global themes it explores.

About Tehran

Tehran is an intense Hindi action-thriller starring John Abraham and Manushi Chhillar. Inspired by real events and set against the backdrop of the ongoing Russo-Ukrainian war, the movie explores the shifting dynamics of international politics. Directed by Arun Gopalan, the film is produced by Dinesh Vijan, Sandeep Leyzell, and Shobhna Yadav. The screenplay has been written by Ritesh Shah and Ashish Prakash Verma.

Beyond Tehran, John is also working on Rohit Shetty’s biopic of former Mumbai Police Commissioner Rakesh Maria. His upcoming projects include the superhero film Munkeeman, a potential Pathaan spin-off centred on Jim, and Garam Masala 2.
