Kajol recently opened up about how she deals with trolls. The actress candidly discussed the challenges of dealing with social media trolling. She emphasised that the public often only sees the glamorous aspects of an actor’s life. While Bollywood stars are frequently in the spotlight, they also grapple with the pressures of maintaining a high-profile career amid intense scrutiny online.
Kajol opens up on dealing with trolls
During the fourth session of Expresso held on Monday, Kajol remarked on her experiences with trolls. She said, “I am thankful that I lived a whole life without social media. I only joined six years ago. It’s important to remember that social media is not real life. You might see me on the red carpet, but you won’t see the 5 a.m. wake-up call, the exhausting day that ends at 11:30 p.m. And the fact that I’m back to work the very next morning. What you see is merely a snapshot. The reality is that we work as hard as anyone else, and have our ups and downs. Yet we’re often only seen smiling in posts.”
Kajol further articulated her perspective on public love and criticism. She stated, “I have a slightly different way of looking at it: when people love you so much, they also feel they have the right to hate you that much. While I wouldn’t claim that this perspective is right, it’s something we, as public figures, must learn to navigate.”
Kajol’s upcoming project
Kajol will soon be seen in the upcoming film Do Patti. She plays a cop opposite Kriti Sanon, who takes on a double role as rival twins. This project marks Kriti’s debut as a producer and is directed by Shashanka Chaturvedi. The script is written by Kanika Dhillon. The film is set to premiere on Netflix on October 25.
