Kapil Sharma Publicly Speaks About Firing At His Kap’s Cafe In Canada; Jokes, “We Got A Bigger Opening After Every Incident”

Actor-comedian Kapil Sharma said on Wednesday that the three shooting incidents at his café in Surrey, Canada, have finally compelled authorities to take action against such attacks. Kap’s Café, which opened in Surrey, British Columbia, in July, was first fired upon on July 10, followed by two more attacks on August 7 and October 16. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and no group has claimed responsibility so far.

Kapil Sharma On Firing At His Kap’s Cafe In Canada

During the trailer launch of his upcoming film Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2, Sharma was asked to comment on the repeated firings at his establishment. “It happened in Vancouver, Canada, and I think they fired three times. I feel the police may not have the power to intervene there. But after that, when this case happened, it went to the federal government, like our central government, and it was discussed in the Parliament of Canada”.

He further mentioned, “So, I think we don’t understand the story behind what God does. But I got a call from a lot of people, that there was already a lot going on there. But it was fired at your cafe, it became news. So now, the police there, the law and order there, they are moving towards improving things there. I never feel unsafe in Mumbai and in my country. Those guys don’t have police like Mumbai”.

The actor revealed, “In fact, after every firing incident, we got a bigger opening at the cafe. So it is all ok if God is with me.”

About The Attack

The shooting took place around 1:50 am local time outside the Surrey cafe, with several gunshots fired. Surrey Police reported that some staff members were inside the establishment during the incident. The attack came just days after the cafe’s opening, with approximately 10 bullet holes observed in the windows.

Kap’s Café is co-owned by Kapil Sharma and his wife, Ginni Chatrath. Due to repeated threats and attacks, local police are now considering providing security to the comedian, especially in light of threats made against his properties in India as well. These incidents have raised concerns among locals and fans, as violence related to gang activity appears to be increasing in the area.
