Karthik Aaryan & Karan Johar Playful Banter

Kartik Aaryan and Karan Johar recently reunited for a lighthearted banter-filled video as they arrived in Jaipur for the grand 25th edition of IIFA. In a clip shared by Kartik on social media. The duo engaged in playful jabs, debating who truly deserves the title of “royalty” in Indian cinema.

Karthik Aaryan & Karan Johar Going Back & Forth

The video kicks off with Karan confidently stating, “Royalty has a meaning, Kartik. I am the emperor of Bollywood, not you.” In response, Kartik cheekily counters, “If you’re the emperor, then I am the prince of Indian cinema.”

Karan, refusing to back down, retorts, “Oh my god, you and royalty? The real royalty is me!” Seizing the moment, Kartik takes a dig at the filmmaker’s remarkable weight loss transformation, joking, “How did you lose so much weight? It looks like ‘Karan’ has arrived, but ‘Johar’ is yet to join.”

Not one to stay silent, Karan fires back at Kartik by calling him “Oh Mr. Kaizada,” referencing his 2023 film Shehzada. Kartik quips, “If a joke must be made, it should be on Shehzada,” to which Karan Johar sharply replies, “There’s nothing that can be made on it.”

The exchange comes after a much-publicized fallout between Kartik and Karan in 2021 when the actor was ousted from Dostana 2, a film he was set to star in alongside Janhvi Kapoor. Despite reports of Kartik’s alleged “unprofessional behavior” leading to the decision, he remained silent on the matter.

However, in 2023, Karan seemingly put an end to the rift by publicly wishing Kartik on his 33rd birthday and announcing a new film collaboration with him. Addressing the past in an interview with Lallantop, Kartik shared, “I chose to stay silent when the news broke, and I choose to remain silent even now. My focus is solely on my work, and I don’t believe in engaging in controversies. I don’t have to prove anything to anyone.”

On The Work Front

Kartik Aaryan has an exciting lineup ahead, starting with Chandu Champion, a biographical sports drama directed by Kabir Khan. Where he plays India’s first Paralympic gold medalist, Murlikant Petkar. He will also return as Rooh Baba in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, the highly anticipated horror-comedy directed by Anees Bazmee. Additionally, Kartik is collaborating with Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions for a romantic thriller, marking their much-discussed reconciliation. With a diverse mix of action, comedy, and drama, Kartik is set to further solidify his position as one of Bollywood’s most bankable stars.
