Kartik Aaryan Wraps Up Naagzilla Shoot; Fantasy Comedy Moves To Post-Production Ahead Of Independence Week Release- Report

After collaborating with Karan Johar on Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, Kartik Aaryan has been on a roll, steadily expanding his filmography with diverse and ambitious projects. Continuing this momentum, according to industry insiders, the actor has now wrapped up another much-anticipated venture, Naagzilla. Directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, the fantasy entertainer has been creating buzz for its unique concept and scale. Adding to the excitement, the film also introduces Preity Mukhundhan, who is all set to make her Bollywood debut with the project.

Kartik Aaryan Wraps Up Naagzilla Shoot

According to a Bollywood Hungama source, “March 16 was the final day of the shoot of Naagzilla. Lead actor Kartik Aaryan was not present as he had completed his portions a few days ago. Director Mrighdeep Singh Lamba shot with the other actors in Mumbai. There was jubilation on the sets when the director said, ‘Pack up’. At the same time, the unit was also disheartened to know that their adventurous journey has come to an end.”

The film, mounted as a large-scale fantasy entertainer, has been in the news for its unique concept and the fresh pairing of Kartik with debutante Preity. With Mrighdeep Singh Lamba at the helm, known for his knack for blending humour with engaging storytelling, Naagzilla is expected to offer a distinctive cinematic experience.

Sharing an update on what lies ahead, the source added, “Now that the shoot is completed, Mrighdeep Singh Lamba’s complete focus would be on post-production and ensuring that their labour of love turns out to be an exciting and fascinating piece of cinema for the audiences.”

Karan Johar-Kartik Aaryan’s Collaboration

Initially, Karan Johar and Kartik Aaryan were set to collaborate on Dostana 2. But the project fell through, hinting at a fallout between the actor and producer. However, the duo later reunited for Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera. And now Naagzilla marks another significant step in their renewed partnership. The film’s mahurat ceremony took place in November 2025, with Karan Johar himself attending the event.

Kartik Aaryan will portray Preyamvadeshwar Pyare Chand, an Ichadaari Naag. The first look was released in April. Karan Johar shared a motion poster and teased the film’s release on August 14, 2026, during Naag Panchami. The film promises to blend fantasy, folklore, and entertainment, though plot details remain under wraps. It will be produced by Karan Johar, Mahaveer Jain, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, and Sujit Jain. Naagzilla has franchise potential based on its performance. Rumours suggest Ravi Kishan has joined the cast, though official confirmation is awaited. This marks Kartik Aaryan’s second collaboration with Karan Johar, following Tu Meri Main Tera. The movie is set to release in theatres on August 14, 2026.
