Dharmendra’s Emotional Poetry Shines In Ikkis Tribute Video

Bollywood is remembering legendary actor Dharmendra with deep love and emotion. As fans continue to grieve his passing, the makers of his final film Ikkis have shared a touching tribute that has moved many to tears. They released a heartfelt video on social media featuring a beautiful Punjabi poem written and recited by Dharmendra himself for the film.

The poem, titled “Aj bhi ji karda hai, pind apne nu jaanwa,” expresses a deep longing for one’s native village. Known as a true “son of the soil,” Dharmendra speaks with pure emotion about his love for his pind and how much he yearns to return to it. His voice carries a mix of nostalgia, warmth, and sincerity, making the tribute even more meaningful.

The video also offers glimpses of Jaideep Ahlawat, who plays an important role in the film. One particularly emotional moment shows Dharmendra and the late actor Asrani sharing a hearty laugh, a frame that instantly strikes a chord with viewers, reminding them of the bonds and memories Dharmendra created throughout his life.

The makers shared the tribute with the caption, “Aj bhi ji karda hai, pind apne nu jaanwa.” They described Dharmendra as someone deeply rooted in his heritage, calling the poem his heartfelt tribute “from one legend to another.”

The simplicity and depth of the verse are sure to leave audiences with goosebumps as they remember the beloved star. Ikkis is backed by Maddock Films and directed by acclaimed filmmaker Sriram Raghavan.

The screenplay is crafted by Raghavan, Arijit Biswas, and Pooja Ladha Surti. The film stars Agastya Nanda as Arun Khetarpal, the youngest Param Vir Chakra awardee, who was martyred at age 21 during the 1971 Indo-Pak war. Ikkis is scheduled to release in theatres on December 25.
